Indications Clavamox is a potentiated penicillin approved for veterinary use in dogs and cats. It combines the broad-spectrum antibiotic activity of amoxicillin with the unique β-lactamase-inhibiting effect of clavulanate potassium for antimicrobial activity. In addition, it provides activity against many Gram-positive and Gram-negative aerobic and anaerobic bacteria. Clavamox is orally administered – and available in both chewable and drop form – to effectively treat skin infections in dogs and cats, periodontal infections in dogs, and urinary tract infections in cats.
